What types of works do you accept?

I accept genre fiction, including Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Historical Fiction, Romance, and Literary Fiction, within the Young Adult, New Adult, or Adult age range. While I welcome fantastical elements and mystical creatures, I do not accept works with explicit or erotic romance. Magic elements are allowed only if the characters are fighting against it.

Additionally, I accept a variety of non-fiction works, as well as student essays.

Do I have to be Muslim to request a service?

No, you do not need to be Muslim to request a service. My goal is to help self-published authors, regardless of their faith, as long as the content does not conflict with my personal religious beliefs. I will evaluate manuscripts based on submission standards and ensure they align with the values of InkbyOmari.

How do you define diversity?

Diversity, for me, is grounded in orthodox Islamic beliefs, as outlined in the Quran and Hadith, which emphasize tolerance, respect, and cooperation among all individuals. I value works that promote inclusivity, but I cannot accept content that is considered haraam (unlawful) by Islamic standards.

How long does the editing process take?

The turnaround time depends on the length and complexity of your manuscript. For example, a 50,000-word manuscript typically takes about 3–4 weeks for a comprehensive edit, while shorter projects or specific services may have quicker turnaround times. Once we discuss your project, I’ll provide a personalized estimate. Rush services are available for an additional fee if you need your manuscript edited faster.

Are phone calls and virtual meetings available for everyone?

Conference calls and virtual meetings are available to female clients and young students only, in respect of my religious beliefs. Male authors are welcome to submit their editing requests via the contact form or email. Each request will be reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis.

Do you offer discounts?

No, InkbyOmari does not guarantee publishing or agent deals. My focus is on providing high-quality editing services to help you strengthen your manuscript. I can offer guidance and resources to assist in your journey, including advice on self-publishing or recommending indie publishers that might align with your goals. Some authors have successfully secured agent deals after working with me, but success ultimately depends on many factors outside of the editing process.

What file formats do you accept?

I accept manuscripts in .doc, .docx, and .pdf formats. Longer manuscripts tend to lag in Google Docs. Word Document is preferred!
