About

HALOMARI ♡

I became an editor for the same reason I became a writer: because I’ve always loved reading. I’m quick on the draw—whether I’m writing, editing, or devouring a new book—and over time, that love naturally turned into a passion for helping others tell their stories well. There wasn’t a single turning point, but the twitter writing community once helped shape my path. As I worked with self-published authors across genres, I found my name being passed around not just for my speed, but for my care.

I believe in preserving the author’s voice. My goal as an editor is never to take over—it’s to guide and enhance, not rewrite. Your story should still feel like yours—just stronger, clearer, and more cohesive.

Most of the writers I work with are indie authors or small presses. I have a soft spot for those just starting out, and I especially love supporting reverts and minority voices that aren’t often heard in mainstream publishing. I’m a huge advocate for self-publishing because it gives you full control of your work—but I also collaborate with a trusted hybrid publisher I recommend for Muslim women who want a bit more guidance while maintaining creative freedom.

My editing style is gentle but honest. I won’t sugarcoat things—if your story needs serious restructuring, I’ll let you know. But I’ll also walk you through how to fix it with compassion and clarity. What sets me apart is how much time and care I invest in each manuscript. I know how hard it is to get your story into the world, and I try to make my services as affordable and accessible as possible—because great storytelling shouldn’t be gatekept.

I hold a Bachelor’s in English from Appalachian State University in North Carolina. When I’m not editing, I’m working on my own fiction—a romance novel inspired by my Palestinian love story. As a revert to Islam, my writing often explores themes of faith, identity, and resilience. Married to a Palestinian Muslim, I draw constant inspiration from our shared life and travels. You’ll rarely see me without my keffiyeh—and you can always find me sharing behind-the-scenes thoughts on Instagram @inkbyomari.

I’m especially drawn to stories with strong, feminine leads, layered spiritual themes, and bold world-building. My favorite genres? Sci-fi, dystopian, apocalyptic fiction, historical fantasy, and clean romance—especially when they intertwine.

Please note: I do not accept explicit content or stories that promote the practice of magic, though I may consider works where characters resist or confront it.
